Google Launches Knol

Software Giant Google today launched its knowledge base called Knol ( Directly targeting wikipedia i would assume). Although still in BETA stage Knol aims to target user's who want any sort of information, quite similar to wikipedia, all its content just like youtube is quite frankly user genrated which means users with knowledge will be contributing to the site, Its quite interesting to see that when you type knol into google , the first reply is not the knol site. its a google site with some financial reviews. i really dont know how google managed that. Also a few minutes ago when i typed in www.knol.com it generated a foreign site. it's then that i understood what was going on the website is actually knol.google.com, which for google standard should have been www.Knol.com atleast considering its a new thing. So this time around its nothing new for google, its more about expanding into everything they can get their hands into.
